Job Description
- Providing advice and support during pre-conception, intrapartum, antenatal and postnatal periods in partnership with women
- Providing care and management of pregnancy and birth
- Assessing progress and recognising warning signs of abnormal and potentially abnormal pregnancies requiring referral to an Obstetrician
- Monitoring the condition of women and foetuses during pregnancy and throughout labour
- Conducting health education classes and seminars to promote the health of mothers and babies such as reproductive health, antenatal education, preparation for parenthood and breastfeeding
- Providing advice on nutrition, childcare and family planning

Application Steps
- If you are applying for a direct nursing vocational skills assessment using an overseas nursing qualification, you will need to arrange a professional registration verification and email it to verification@anmac.org.au ; If an email is not available, the relevant agency can post the verification results directly to ANMAC.
- Please note that ANMAC will not accept emails sent from free internet email accounts.
- Collect and scan copies of original supporting documents;
- Create an account on the ANMAC website login page (you can only apply once using the same email address);
- Complete online forms and process applicants' credit card payments;
- Check that you have received an email from ANMAC confirming that your application and payment have been successfully received;
- Once payment is confirmed, go to the “My Account” section in the ANMAC portal to upload the applicant’s supporting documents;
- Submit your application and payment within one calendar month of account creation to avoid account deletion.
Skills Assessment Requirements
Language Requirements
Language score requirement: 4 IELTS scores of 7 in each subject
Applicants are required to have a degree related to the nominated position. PhD / Bachelor (including Honours Bachelor and Master) 156 weeks of study time in Australia
Academic requirements
- 1. Registered nurses and midwives must have at least 3 years of full-time undergraduate education, or a partial nursing master's degree;
- 2. Or midwives have completed a 1-year full-time midwifery course
Work requirements
- 1. At least 12 months of paid Australian work experience (minimum 20 hours per week);
- 2. At least 36 months of paid international work experience (minimum 20 hours per week).
