Job Description

  • Administering muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests to identify and assess physical problems of patients
  • Designing treatment programs to address patients' problems
  • Treating patients to reduce pain, improve circulation, strengthen muscles, improve cardiothoracic, cardiovascular and respiratory functions, restore joint mobility, and improve balance and coordination
  • Using the therapeutic properties of exercise, heat, cold, massage, manipulation, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, ultraviolet and infra-red light and ultrasound in the treatment of patients
  • Reviewing, continually monitoring, assessing and evaluating programs and treatments
  • Consulting with other Health Professionals as required about patients' problems, needs and progress
  • Instructing patients and their families in procedures to be continued at home
  • Recording treatments given and patients' responses and progress
  • Developing and implementing screening and preventative health promotion programs

      1. 1. Eligibility Assessment: Complete the online application and pay the application fee, complete the cultural safety training program, and wait for the application result from the Board;
      1. 2. Written Assessment: After carefully reading the written assessment information booklet, applying for and paying the written assessment fee, a mock test will be provided to the applicant;
      1. 3. Clinical Assessment: Conduct the clinical assessment exam in person at the Council’s simulation laboratory in Melbourne;
      1. IV. A candidate report of the clinical assessment results will be sent via email within 14 working days of the assessment date.

    1. 1. Become a qualified physiotherapist overseas (with at least a diploma level qualification)

    1. 2. Meet (or already hold) the educational/qualification requirements for registration without any restrictions in your country of training, or Able to legally practice in your country of training without restrictions (if no regulatory body currently exists).
