The University of Canberra is excited to announce new course offerings for the Master of Nursing Practice (Graduate Entry)! This course will be available at our Bruce (Canberra) campus only, and applications will open for Semester 1 2025 at 9am AEST on Tuesday 1st October 2024.
This two-year master’s degree will allow students with an undergraduate degree in any discipline to study to be a registered nurse (RN) in Australia. This course is fully accredited from the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) and has been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Upon graduating students will be eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Throughout this course students will study in intensive blocks of theory and clinical placements, supported through interactive online content. Experience technology-enhanced learning and innovative teaching to provide contemporary, relevant, and flexible content. Students will be required to complete 800 hours of clinical practice across a range of local and regional medical settings - including pediatric, aged care, medical and surgical, theatre, emergency department (ED) and intensive care unit (ICU). Participating placement venues include Canberra Hospital, North Canberra Hospital, Goulburn Base Hospital, and several additional private healthcare clinics in and around ACT, Sydney and regional New South Wales, e.g., Bega.
Admission to this course will be highly competitive, and applications will be ranked based on the Grade Point Average (GPA) from their Bachelor degree. Applications for the first round of offers closes at 11:59pm AEDT 13th October 2024. Applicants who are eligible for an offer will be placed on a waitlist and the first round of offers will be released on 23rd October 2024. Any applicant who is not offered a place in the first round, will remain on a waitlist for further rounds while vacancies exist.
Offers will include a deadline for acceptance. If the student does not accept or decline their offer by the deadline, their offer will lapse and they will lose their place in this course. Offers for this course cannot be deferred.
