For a long time, construction, retail, and tourism (including catering and accommodation) have been the industries with the highest demand for labor in Australia. The carpentry profession introduced today is one of the mainstays in the construction industry.
For low-rise residential buildings, wooden structures have advantages over reinforced concrete, such as good elasticity, earthquake and wind resistance; poor thermal conductivity, warm in winter and cool in summer; and when exposed to fire, the surface quickly carbonizes, preventing rapid temperature rise and deformation, which can buy more escape time.
Therefore, Australian buildings, especially residential ones, have always and will continue to be dominated by low-rise brick-wood structures. This has led to a situation where a large number of carpenters are needed in the construction industry, from house foundation to decoration.
"According to the job advertisements released by Seek, Australia's largest job search website, the average annual salary paid by carpentry employers is 60,000 Australian dollars, equivalent to 300,000 RMB; while senior carpenters with many years of experience can earn up to 120,000 Australian dollars, equivalent to 600,000 RMB.
