To prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Australia, the Australian government officially launched the COVIDSafe COVID-19 tracking app on the 26th. The app's downloads exceeded one million within a few hours of its launch.
TAFE Queensland reminds students in Australia that although the current epidemic has been controlled to some extent, it is still necessary to pay attention to protection and keep an eye on relevant information updates. Please copy the following link to your browser to download COVIDSafe:
Using COVIDSafe can help everyone, every community stay safe! It will also assist medical and epidemic prevention personnel to quickly discover and timely stop the spread of the virus.
The app uses Bluetooth technology. When you are within 1.5 meters of another COVIDSafe user, or have been with them for more than 15 minutes, the app will be activated and perform a digital handshake.
COVIDSafe will record when and where you had close contact with another user when activated. This record will be immediately encrypted and kept for 21 days. If you have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus, the app will notify you so that you can contact local medical and epidemic prevention personnel as soon as possible. If there is no contact, the data will be deleted after 21 days.
COVIDSafe only collects minimal information from you. Without your consent, this information is safe and inaccessible.
COVIDSafe will not disclose the identity of any virus carriers. It only alerts anyone who may have come into contact with a carrier so that they can take immediate action.
