Oral and dental fields are hot and high-paying industries in the job market; and they are constantly growing with the improvement of personal awareness and the development of the medical beauty industry.
In addition to various public and private hospitals, dental clinics, and medical beauty industries, medical machinery, medical materials, and oral product manufacturers are constantly looking for professionals in the oral and dental fields.
TAFE Queensland offers three dental specialties:

Entry Requirements: Completion of Year 10
Language Requirements: Academic IELTS 5.5 (no band less than 5)
Duration: 9 months

The course consists of classroom teaching, practical operation, and professional oral institution internship.
Students will learn to assist in various oral health procedures, dental radiology, operation and handling of various related instruments and equipment.
As well as how to provide necessary care for oral patients, control possible infections, etc. Employment directions include dental assistants, etc.

The course also consists of classroom teaching and practical operation. TAFE Queensland's dental laboratory is equipped with the most advanced instruments and equipment for students to learn and practice.
The Diploma of Dental Technology teaches students how to work in the health field while focusing on teaching dental technology including dentures, braces, bracket correction, orthodontic procedures and techniques, etc.
At the same time, students will also learn how to make models, oral impressions, oral bite splints, dentures, as well as customizing and repairing other dental instruments. Employment directions include dental technicians, etc.

Language Requirements: Academic IELTS 6.5 (no band less than 6)
Duration: 3 years

Strongly recommended for students with good grades in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology; or with relevant experience.
The course includes lectures, practice, and clinical internship. Students will learn to make, maintain, and inspect dentures, implant and wear dentures, how to obtain precise impressions, and the methods and techniques of making them.
The learning content also involves knowledge in pathology physiology, pharmacology, radiology, and clinical skills.
Dental prosthetics is a highly technical and extensive subject. Employment directions mainly include registered dental prosthetists. This is a highly specialized profession that can be practiced independently.
Graduates of this course, if meeting other conditions of the DBA (Australian Dental Council), will be eligible to apply to the DBA to become a registered dental prosthetist.
