Application conditions
1.The spouse needs to have a formal marital relationship with the main applicant, that is, they must be a legal, registered couple (registered marriages in Australia or overseas are counted); or the spouse needs to be a de facto partner with sufficient evidence and proof of cohabitation with the main applicant for at least one year, which is what we call De factos.
2.The main applicant needs to have a visa in Australia for at least one year.

application process
Step 1
When applying for a visa for the first time, the principal and the secondary applicant should submit it together. That is to say, the principal applicant should bring his/her spouse when applying for a study visa, plus the spouse's materials and additional expenses (living expenses, travel expenses, health insurance premiums).
Step 2
If one party already has a student visa and the other party joins as a spouse, they will need to apply for a separate accompanying visa and provide materials proving the relationship between the spouse and the main applicant and relevant financial proof, etc.
Another point that needs to be noted is that if the main applicant is already in Australia and the spouse is still in China, you will likely receive a phone call from the Immigration Department when applying for a dependent student visa. It is important to remember that the spouse's main purpose is to accompany the student, not to work or study in Australia. Therefore, you must remember the university, course, and time of your marriage of the main applicant in Australia. Otherwise, your visa will likely be rejected on the grounds of "non-genuine student spouse purpose".
